21-01-2024 Coverage of the opening of the Second Gulf Forum for Development and Sustainable Project Management

Under the patronage of the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and in the presence of the Acting Undersecretary, Eng. Maha Al-As'oosi, the Second Gulf Forum for Development and Sustainable Project Management was opened yesterday, which is held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Kuwait. The Ministry participated in the exhibition held on the sidelines of the forum, which included many governmental and private agencies and institutions. Which contributes to reducing various types of waste.

The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry, Eng. Maha Al-As'oosi, also gave a speech in which she stated that one of the most prominent risks of the increase in waste is causing the spread of diseases and disruption in the environmental system and the subsequent change in climate and the spread of the phenomenon of desertification and global warming. She stressed that the matter calls for the necessity of working to develop the waste management system and raise the level of Awareness, highlighting the latest methods in waste management, energy production and recyclable materials, supporting the idea of community participation to preserve the environment, and encouraging investment in the field of renewable energy and clean water.

She pointed out that the aim of holding the forum is to emphasize the great interest that the country attaches to achieving sustainable development, and the interest in the issue of recycling waste, reducing its quantities, reusing it, generating energy, and creating green smart cities, and the accompanying quality of work outcomes, and ensuring the risk and safety management system, in accordance with the country’s strategy. Kuwait and the New Kuwait Vision 2035, and she added that the forum aims to find the best solutions and technologies to reduce the impacts resulting from population growth and urban and economic development witnessed by Kuwait and the Gulf countries, as the recycling process contributes to preserving the environment, reducing the percentage of pollution and preserving resources and energy. , reducing consumption and raising the efficiency of production processes, as well as protecting lands from harmful substances, as well as raising the quality of work and reducing risks and occupational safety.
